About the Blue Lotus Room Team Keti & Sam
The Blue Lotus Room is a creative new Egyptian-inspired arts space for classes and performance. The studio is the creative project of Keti Sharif & Sam Abraham Nascimento, who look forward to inviting all their students and opening this studio to the wider community to classes, events and weekend retreats at the venue.
Keti Sharif is a well-travelled Arabic Dance & Somatics Teacher, who has taught in 40 countries. She is the creator of A-Z Bellydance and organiser of Sphinx Festival & Musical Heart cultural events in Egypt, where she resided for many years. She is currently training in Qi Gong, to bring this gentle art to the studio in addition to her popular dance classes & A-Z Teacher Training at the studio. www.ketisharif.com
Sam Nascimento is a Latin & Arabic percussionist, drum teacher & DJ originally from the East coast who has lived in France & across the Middle East. A pioneering World Music DJ, he brought Latin/Cuban, French & Arabic music to Australian clubs, touring & opening for many international musicians & dancers, including Buena Vista Social Club, Afro-Cuban Allstars, Los Amigos Invicible & Los Van Van. Sam recently recorded the '40 Arabic Rhythms' CD in Egypt, where he also co-ordinates music for production & events. www.rhythmicessence.com

LARGE SPACIOUS VENUE The Blue Lotus Room is a spacious 150m Pyramid themed studio with limestone walls, a dancefloor, wall-to-ceiling mirrors & acoustic stage for performance & events.
EGYPTIAN ARTS The Studio offers Egyptian Dancing & Drumming classes - both traditional and modern, with a focus on traditional cultural artistry.
THE STAGE - PERFORMANCES The Blue Lotus Room offers Evening Performances & Showcases on the stage for student recitals and for special cultural events & film screenings. The studio holds up to 150 people seated.
